Fototur Amsterdam 2008

We had been there twice before, but never really got around to experience the city. This time we got two cool days and got to see them turn into frenzic nights.
From 12 am. to 19 pm., Amsterdam is like Copenhagen and propably a lot of other larger european cities. But after the sun sets and people have been eating and drinking them selves full, the party orgy craks open. The streets are just as full as during prime shopping hours. The weather was warm, so that might have helped fire things off a lot. Boats with incredible music-sets and dancing girls roams Rokin, Voorburgwal and the rest of the canals in the Old City. Whores, pimps, gigolos, tarts and vicars; women, men and everything in between are putting the cream on The Red Light District.
The smell of cannabis is everywhere. The coffeshops are only have shorts vists during the day for the occasional (ab)user, but the air is thick in the evenings and the mood is “cosy”. I got my saturday morning coffee from a “regular” coffeshop. A cappucino, please. The person behind the bar, was looking at me, wating impatience and eventually showed a somewhat disgruntled face expression when he realized my order was finished. The hash was laying there, wanted to be sold. Packed up. Rolled. Ready to go. The obvious junkie next to me, ordered some and engaged the owner as they were long time acquaintances. The focus was off of me and I seemed insignificant.
Nuff said, heres the photos:
Also got myself a terrific flash, which was long overdue: Canon Speedlite 580EX II.
