This article tells the story of a stupid company: Surftown smider blogger ud efter digg-effekt.
A blogger has been kicked out of his hostingservice, Surftown, after one post on his blog was quoted on digg.com and resulted in excessive traffic on their network. Explanation: not excessive traffic but inefficient code and therefore using too many ressources.
While I can understand that a hostingservice has limited ressources and probably couldn’t support the traffic if all sites on their network was access at the same time without it being noticed by their customers.
But kicking one out with a month notice and without any form of agreement is stupid.
The increase in traffic was only temporary until the digg-effect would wear off.
I guess Surftown prefer no customer uses their network and giving them least amount of traffic and maintenance.

I lost a lot of respect for Surftown and can no longer recommend them to anybody.
Thank god I’m hosting this myself.
